巻き寿司
酢飯と具材を海苔や玉子焼き、などで筒状に巻いた寿司の一種。巻き寿司には、複数の具材を入れた太巻き、1種類を入れた細巻き、調理器具を使わずに巻いた手巻き、節分に食べる恵方巻などの種類がある。
Rolled sushi
A type of sushi in which vinegared sushi rice and ingredients are wrapped in seaweed or Japanese egg omelet, rolled into a cylinder, and cut into pieces. Variations include “futomaki (thick roll), which has multiple ingredients, “hosomaki” (thin roll), which has only one ingredient, “temaki” (hand rolled), made by wrapping ingredients in seaweed without using special tools, and “ehomaki,” which is served on Setsubun (the day before the beginning of spring).
